Aim of the Course
The course tends to provide students with a brief introduction to the world of computers and the concept of information technology including: number systems and data representation, computer system components: hardware & software, storage and input/output systems, operating systems and utility systems, software applications. Also, it gives an overview about computer networks and internet: data communication, transmission modes, transmission media, computer networks, internet protocol, and internet services. It practices some computer applications in the laboratory such as Internet Access, word processing and power point. It gives students a practical experience on developing projects related to the specialty.
