Aim of the Course

The aim of the course is to ensure that students acquire knowledge about basic principle of inorganic and physical chemistry necessary for other chemistry courses namely, qualitative inorganic analysis, quantitative chemical analysis, organic chemistry and physical pharmacy, in addition to acquiring the knowledge about physical and chemical properties of different chemical substances.

  • Weighing & Electric balance. Determination of the density of some liquids. Exercises
  • Determination of the percentage of water in a hydrated salt.
  • Preparation of different solutions using different methods for concentration expression.
  • Chemical equilibrium in solution and Le Chatelier’s principle. Factors Affecting Reaction Rate.
  • pH measurement and buffer preparation.
